i just recieved my phone today and am very satisfied. only thing that bothers me is the address book, compose, and saved message icon are faded like the are inactive but it can still be opened. is there a reason for this? maybe it's because i haven't setup my email yet?

There hidden :P all you have to do is go to the selected icon and hit menu>show icon >or hide icon.

If you want to keep them hidden (and not see them) then hit menu and uncheck "show all."
