Just purchased the Seidio 1250mAh OEM Sized Extended Battery for BlackBerry Pearl 8130, Pearl 8120, Pearl 8110 - ShopCrackBerry

I use my blackberry when I go running for an mp3 player and stuff like that, and I'm constantly on it for work. Will this battery give me a noticeable difference with power?

I second that, I was very unhappy with OEM battery. The batt you just bought lasts me 2,3,or 4 days, depending on usage.

I dont really understand the description on the buy page of this item! It says it will not replace your current battery! What is it meant to do? Will I need to have the other battery with me whereever I go!? I know the question sounds stupid but the description makes me ask that!

My understanding is that it WILL replace your current battery. But I'd keep the current one around just in case...

I haven't gotten that battery yet, but every week I say I'm going to. The reviews have been fantastic and I'm sick of having to charge every day...

i'm waiting for a special on the battery. Paying $45 for a battery I sorta don't need is unneccessary. But when a discount/special comes around, I'll hop on it. Anyone know of any good deals?

Yes, it replaces your original battery...

I bought it on ebay. Better shipping cost than here on CB.

Thanks for all the great information. I thought it was just me who thought the battery life could be better on the pearl. My 8703 would last all weekend on a charge, but my pearl just barely makes it, if at all. I'm definetly going to get one.

Do you need to buy a new door with this battery? Does it stick out further than the current battery?

No, a new door is not needed. With the extended it actually makes the battery door more snug and not flimsy like with the oem battery.

Exactly! I also notice a tiny bit of a weight difference as well. Nothing extreme or anything. I just feel like it feels a bit "more" with the extended battery. It's funny how mere ounces are noticeable!

The extended battery works great with the 8130. The battery door that comes with the phone fits perfectly. There is no difference in the thickness. I have noticed an approximately 25% increase in power time since changing over.

I just bought two standard 1000mAH batteries on ebay. This gives me a far better battery life than any extended battery. Whn I travel I usually have my USB charger wih me and since I do a battery pull once every few days it is no probmlem to simply rotate the batteries as I do this.

I now have a total of 3000mAH for about $15 incl shipping from Hong Kong.

It's like the canary - cheep.

Ok, so I got the battery in yesterday and I charged it all last night and today its actually lasting shorter time than the original battery. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought the extended battery was supposed to extend your battery life. Lol.
