I've seen a bunch of threads for the bold for this problem, but not the 8220. Not sure if the solutions work the same for both, but I just gotta ask this.

There's a lil EN sign on the top right corner whenever I type, and I want to know how to get rid of it. Uh I'm not so sure how to wipe the memory, and if I do, I'm worried that I won't be able to restore it because I'll probably mess up. Is there any other way?

The same fixes for the Bold (or other BBs) will work on your Pearl.

Wiping is not the only solution.

Now one of the solutions was downloading the new OS, and I was looking at that a few minutes ago and the first 6 or 7 posts were solid, but then the rest of them were just posts about them having major problems, and a few major ones were "random dropped calls," and I really don't remember what else haha. i have bad memory.
So are there any alternative solutions?
