Email Settings - Messages - Notifier Help

Afternoon...another long day at work.

I am hoping to get some assistance in changing/updating/adding some new options to my emails inboxes and messages inbox.

Quick back story: Purchased Pearl(8130 Verizon - Newest OS) in April and I just received a replacement Pearl last night. Most of my settings were successfully moved over, but I've been having A LOT of trouble with emails and missing menu options.

1.) You know the ability to add the "stripes" to certain email accounts? I used to have the ability on my old Pearl, but now I can't find the menu of option at all. I've searched forums and followed the Menu Path, but it seems the actual option is missing.

I've been told/read to go to "Options"(under main phone), "Advanced Settings", and then "Message Services". However, there is no "Message Services". No menu with that name. Anyone help?

2.) I have setup two email accounts on this phone. My past phone had the same two email accounts, but this time around I've got an extra folder. Right now, I've got two folders for my two email accounts, and I've got one other folder called "Messages". I want to turn of the New Message Indicator for the "Messages" folder, but I don't see that option anywhere. I've looked in "General Options", "Email Settings", and "Email Reconciliation".

Also, neither of my emails are being reconciled correctly. My deletions on my handheld are not being carried over to the desktop, vice versa.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

1. Apparently, as I just recently learned, this is a BES exclusive feature. If you do not have BES, you will not be able to do this. Trust me. I wanted pink stripes. ;)

2. I do not believe you can turn off any indicators. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong... ?If you are looking to simply separate these folders, as your wording is a little unclear to me, you can do this under your Email Options.

3. Are you using Outlook? Gmail? Yahoo??

1.) Odd. I must have setup my work email differently before. I'll have to try it again. I enjoyed my green stripes. :P

2.) Sorry about the confusion. On the pear, I(hopefully we) have the General "Messages" folder where everything from emails - sms - tasks go. I also have two folders for my two email accounts and one other folder for my SMS/MMS(forgot to mention that!). I really just want to be able to disable any notifications in the "Messages" folder. Is that possible?

3.) I have Gmail Account and a work account under Microsoft Outlook.

No problem. :)

1. You will need to setup BES with your carrier.

2. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot turn off any notification.

3. Which are you having issues with, Gmail or Outlook?

Neither of them are being deleted from desktop if I delete from hand held.

Did you try resyncing then doing a battery pull? What are your IMAP settings like?

Yeah. I actually just set up a IMAP with my gmail account. Never knew I could do that. We'll see how that goes.
