wel when i took apart my phone to change the housing and then i tried to call someone no sound came through the ear piece but speaker is working fine..
Could have loosened it from it's connection while it was apart, but it also might just be coincidence. Try placing a call, switching to speakerphone, and then switching it back. That seems to do the trick for me.
My wife is having the same problem with her Pearl 8100. Speaker works, but handset doesn't so she's either using the speakerphone to talk or a headphone. My guess is we have to replace the earpiece since this is an old phone and ATT won't replace it. I've tried updating the OS, battery pulls, etc. Nothing has worked so far.
