My wife is in the market for a BB Pearl and I have steered her toward the 8120 thinking that it has all the features that 8100 lacked, including video recording, WiFi, side slot for micro SD cards, and GPS.

Browsing through the Blackberry website this morning, the features list for 8120 did include WiFi, did not mention GPS, but has Black Berry Maps (while the 8130 features included both BB Maps and GPS). That had me confused. Usually manufacturers would make sure all the good features are well advertised, especially if it is GPS on a mobile phone.

Does anyone know one way or the other that the 8120 will include built in GPS to be used in conjunction with Google Map? Thanks.

But Google Maps will triangulate your postion w/out GPS based on the towers. In more densly populated areas, it's going to be pretty accurate. In the boonies, not so accurate.

That was my finding re GPS on the 8120 as well (and per the Blackberry comparison page: BlackBerry - BlackBerry | Wireless Handheld Devices, Software & Services from Research In Motion (RIM)

But then the AT&T page says the 8120 is "Telenav Maps and Telenav GPS Navigator capable" - what is ATT referring too, if not GPS? BlackBerry® Pearl 8120 Cell Phone - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular
