Be easy on me, i'm new. Just got my BB Pearl 8100 two days ago but I have a question about the software that's on it. According to my device, I have Package Version: 4.2.0.88, Applications: 4.2.0.71, Software Platform: 2.2.0.41 so do I need to update my software to Package Version: 4.2.1.140, Applications: 4.2.1.91, Software Platform: 2.3.0.75 or is that not an update for my device? i'm confused!!!

I was searching on https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=E1E32E235EEE1F970470A3A6658DFDD5"]https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=E1E32E235EEE1F970470A3A6658DFDD5 and found my devices software but wasn't sure if I should download and install 8100M_PBr4.2.0_rel88_PL2.2.0.41_A4.2.0.71_SunCom.e xe or the 8100M_PBr4.2.1_rel140_PL2.3.0.75_A4.2.1.91_Suncom. exe file or if I don't need either of them. Sorry about the URL, I'm not aloud to post links yet.

Can anyone clear this up for me please?

Package Version: 4.2.1.140 Is what you want.

You should probably update your Desktop software, too.

Thanks a lot for the help! it took some time to do the update but it worked well. Now, my desktop software is currently version 4.2.0.14 so should I download the 4.0, 4.1, 4.2.1 or the 4.2.2? My guess would be the 4.2.2 but I don't want to install something that will mess up my BB

4.2.2 is best bet, doesn't matter with desktop software just stick to carrier handheld software versions
