I just recently purchased a Pearl 8130 Smartphone, the CD that came with the phone did not load on my computer, it would say initializing then it would say it had an error and had to close, so when I called my carrier they directed me to RIM site and downloaded the version there thinking that the CD could have been corrupted. However, this did not work either? I am running Vista, has anyone else had a problem like this or can anyone point me in a direction to try?

With VIsta, you must have Desktop Manager version 4.2, Service Pack 2, or version 4.3.

It should work fine from the download, try running the program as an administrator.
