Does the desktop manager save your information (calendar and contacts)? I don't have outlook or anything I sync my phone with. I was just curious if I lost my phone or something happens to it, if I bought a new blackberry and hooked it up, would that restore my info on my new phone?

It should save you contacts and calendar. You have to run the desktop manager and use the backup/restore feature.
