My sister got a BlackBerry 8120 last Christmas and just recently got an iPhone for graduation. I inherited the BlackBerry which is in very very good shape to be a year old.
I cannot send nor receive picture messages. There isn't even any kind of MMS option.
My sister had no problem with this option (she didn't have a data plan either) which is why I'm confused as to why it's not working for me.
A friend of mine mentioned that it might have something to do with the simcard.
And I've tried battery pull and I am really trying to avoid calling T-Mobile. Figured I would try this forum first. (:

Yes. But email or blackberry messenger has no use to me. haha

Without a data plan, you shouldn't be able to use email, BBM, or MMS. If your sister was, and didn't get a huge bill for data, she got lucky. Text is the only messaging you can use, without either WiFi or data.
