Pearl on Sprint, phone in normal profile so I can hear ringer... I don't want to hear it dial. I also would like to take pictures without hearing it. Can this be done?

    Nope and Nope.
But if you dial from your address book, it makes no sound.

No the shutter can not be silenced.

Regarding the KeyTone, credit goes to jsanders for this workaround tip

I assume that the camera sound comes from a sound file (similar to a ringtone) somewhere in the phone. Couldn't someone simply save a new "blank" sound to the file name of the camera shutter?

I'm to new to know where to even look for the shutter sound file, but I'm sure someone else on the forum could do that and post the file and instructions here.

    But seriously, couldn't that work?

The camara sound has to do with privacy issues - ie taking pictures without someones consent.

I know this is not the best tip but if you call (example you vm) then take a pic you won't hear the shutter.
