I moved to Australia with my unlocked TMobile Pearl 8100- and learned that over in Oz I can only use 3G- so my BlackBerry is useless here.
My daughter in the US has a cheesey little phone that she uses with a Virgin Mobile prepaid card. She's in her early teens and has asked for a camera phone for Christmas. If I were to send her my 8100 could she use her Virgin Mobile SIM card in it? Im assuming that she would be limited to calls, texting music & video and camera (no internet/ e-mail)- which is fine...but will the card work in an 8100 for basic prepaid calls?

Virgin mobile runs on Sprint's network. Sprint uses CDMA technology which does not utilize a sim card.
