ok, so I purchased the blackberry pearl 8130 from telus. I paired my bluetooth and it works great on calls but how do I listen to music through my bluetooth. I know the pearl is AD2P capable so it should work but I can't seem to figure it out. Also I heard telus blocks data trasnfer with bluetooths so is there a way to unlock it. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Your headset would also have to be A2DP compatible. What headset are you using?

I hate to hijack the post, but I'm having the same problem. I have the Jawbone headset and I'm not sure if it is A2DP compatible.

Does anyone know if it is, and if so how do I get my music to play through it.

    Thanks.

No, the Jawbone and the Voyager 520 do not support the A2DP profile.

ok so I'm confused, my boyfriend has a razr v3xx with cingular and he uses the motorolla H500 to listen to music and I also have that bluetooth (which is now old) but it doesn't work with it, so I bought the plantronics and can't get it to work either. Is it the phone then? but it says the BB pearl 8130 is AD2P, ahhh!!!!!

I am using the Telus 8130 with a motorola ht820 stereo bluetooth headset -- works great for phone calls and music (even has sound in both ears for phone calls, apparantly unusual for stereo bluetooth) but doesn't work with video -- as has been discussed in other threads here, you cannot use any bluetooth headset with video because of the delay caused by the wireless connection would make the audio out of sync with the video.

I have seen some ht820s on ebay for about $20 but watch out for outrageous shipping costs ($60 for one auction!!). If you live in the Toronto area, factorydirect.ca sells refurbs for $39.99 or I got mine new from Walmart for $67.

I just noticed the motorola ht820 is a big set of headphones, anyone find a small bluetooth that works with the bb pearl 8130 to listen to music. thanks.

how small are you talking? The motorokr s9 is smaller sports style earbuds on a similar headband (neckband), and probably works similarly, otherwise there are some models of earbuds on a short cord with a bluetooth reciever that hangs somewhere... I figured with that setup you might as well use the wired headset that came with the phone!

The razr does not support a2dp. So the music is probably just going through the old standard which doesn't sound very good. The jawbone and other headsets like that do not do a2dp.

My guess is that the BB only does music through a2dp but calls through the old way.

I am waiting on a Plantronics Voyager 855 Stereo Bluetooth and it is A2DP. I'll let you know if it really does work with my 8130 BB. $75.
