hey, i would like to know if it is the operating system of the berry that is playing the fool. the reason i say this is because i had change the USB port recently due to the fact that one of the spokes was broken. I would like to know how can i get the berry to register on the computer. Would i need to reset my software and start fresh?

you can try going to the blackberry website and downloading the usb/modem drivers. I had a problem like that and that download fixed the issue

www.blackberry.com and the go to desktop software and use the drop down menu and you will see the drivers
