i was on .181. I realized that the platform on .181 is .108, while on .182 it was downgraded to .106. Maybe that's where the improvement lies. Either way, I'm loving it!
I've been using .182 for three and a half days now, and I must say I'm impressed! My Pearl is really quick, and my file free space jumped from an average of 14MB to 18MB. I also noticed it's very stable. I must confess, though, I got greedy . I downgraded my BBM to 4.5 yesterday, and I got to an average of 21 MB. I realized that the main difference for me, anyways is my contacts' icons. I use my BBM mainly for friends and work. I already know what my boss's ugly mug looks like, so I figured I'll stick to the older version of BBM.
I was on 181 before the upgrade (or downgrade - but I think its only one portion of the OS).
It seems more stable, but I don't think it's much faster, and I didn't get much more space. After running through all my apps and looking at the images stored on the device memory - and still waiting for about a minute and a half for the thumbnails to start showing up (I don't have a media card installed), I still have the same 4-5 megs free that I had before. It will fluctuate between as much as 10mb, to as little as 3 at times. This was the same as on the .110 version before I upgraded to .181 before this one.
I will say that the last one AT&T provided, the .110 version (platform .90), was a bit more problematic.
just installed last night and so far it seems the browser is a little faster and I did get some more free space not much but noticeable [from 15-17 now at 16-19]. hasn't even been 24 hours yet but battery life seems about the same as on .181.
