Blackberry 9105 Prototype?
Hello. I recently bought a Blackberry 9105, used, off an individual. He did not tell me it was a prototype, probably because he did not know himself. Upon startup it states that it's property of RIM, engineering unit, not for sale or lease. Not operator branded, only English available. The firmware is os 5.0.0.925 (bundle 1534) , it also can't read memory cards. The phone works with Rogers sim, and can access the internet. I checked the IMEI, it btw starts with 00401, and the website returned an answer saying that it was a test phone. This phone apparently was from the UK. I can't add languages to it, and bb app loader says that for that model that's the newest firmware. I want to change the frequencies, because it doesn't work with Wind Mobile, If I somehow flash the firmware to let's say Vodafone UK or DE, will the frequencies change by themselves? It has bands 1,2,5,6 and I need 1,4,8. Also I managed to access an engineering menu, but there is so much abbreviations that it was just to hard for me. Does anybody want to buy it off me for a reasonable price (price for a prototype phone) or be helpful and tell me how to change the 3G frequencies of this phone. Thank you in advance!
