Here is my rushed almost-murdered out pearl, I need to re-do the paint but I think it looks badass all black. Initially I had worried that the blacks would end up different shades but it does match pretty well. I need to get some acid to get the ring black, and eventually get a black trackball.

I was only rushing because, apparently the spray paint I had was like 5 or 6 years old and then the spray-thing broke off so it's shoddy quality at best. I'll re-do it eventually.

What kind of paint did you use? I would like to do this to my pearl. And yes you should get a black trackball, it would look better. But it looks really good.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on a new set of buttons, including the standby button?

The only place that I know that sells parts like that is Cellular Accessories - SonyEricsson, 3G, Alcatel, BlackBerry, Mobiado, Tools, Apple, Microsoft, NEC, Pa. But I warn you it takes forever to get to you since they are in Hong Kong.

Unfortunately I don't think they sell the buttons themselves. That's where I got my black housing from, but last week my standby button broke off and disappeared. Now my poor Pearl had a big hole in the top. haha

cnn.cn sells the black track trackball as well as a black ring to surround it.

It looks quite nice. You should dye the trackball as well. Or, go with the G1 trackball Blackberry Guy referred to in his post.

Unfortunately, I need to try and get a completely new phone. When I switched the housing my speakers fell and caught together, which apparently means death to speakers. So I'm hoping to replace my Pearl with a shiny new 8900...or at least a refurbished Pearl. Unless I find a midplate with everything functioning on it.

But yeah, G1 trackball is what I'm aiming for if I keep this damaged warrior.

that website has speakers as well. you maybe able to rebuild the hold thing as a back up.
