I just got a pearl today the guy said my blackberry data bundle� will be active the next day i went through the set up wizard but it only gives me the option to use a work email account with BES rather than a personal one
have i been sold the wrong one??? some please help!

BES is for use with a Microsoft exchange server and BIS is for use with most any POP3 email access! Hope this helps!

I had similar problem with my 8100. My signal meter was showing GSM instead of EDGE. I called customer service on a land line and they were able to walk me through the fix. It involved resetting by pulling out battery and SIM card so make sure you're not on the actual handset having the problem, but I think they had to change some setting on their end too.
