Normally on my 9700 and old blackberrys it was

HOLD DOWN SHIFT KEY and use trackball/pad and up or down
    then DELETE

this simply does not work on my 9105. Different os updates
    have not changed a thing.

PLEASE TELL ME... its driving me nuts....

    Thanks

I'm going to move this to the 9100/9105 Forum. Perhaps they can tell you, my 9650 works, just like your 9700 did. I'm a little surprised that the 9100/05 is different.

It works like that on my old 8100.

Checking out the user manual on the BB site for your 9105, it should work the same way.

I think he wants to delete a range, or a selection of emails, NOT delete prior to a date, which is a handy command in it's own right. On my 9650, you can hold shift and scroll down with the trackpad to select a range of email to delete the whole range, while leaving the other emails above and below the range alone. It sounds like that does not work on the 91XX, but I don't have one to try it on.

YES as I said that you have outlined above DOES NOT WORK on the 9105, so it would be nice if someone with a 9100/9105 can respond.

    thanks

Could it be a software version issue, or maybe you got an issue with your shift key?

Blackberry Support Forums have confirmed that ALL 9105's have an os bug, which prevents selecting multiple messages (SHIFT+SCROLL) in the main message list. Inside editing works, but how do you delete 300 emails if you cant shift scroll to select. I only got an apology, and NO ETA for a fix.. TOTAL WANKERS.. thanks for not caring rim..

wow ftg888 needs to take a nice pill...if i had an answer, but the tone of the responses given to other who are TRYING to help, whether or no they actually are, the effort is there....

"YES as I said that you have outlined above DOES NOT WORK on the 9105, so it would be nice if someone with a 9100/9105 can respond"
wtf man? just b/c someone doesn't have the specific phone doesn't mean they don't know how to fix it or why the problem is there...geez...

all i know is once i delete my SMS and occasionally an email, they reappear after reboot

so if SOMEONE who actually CARES could help me AWESOME but if you can't then GET LOST!!! (i'm kidding in case you haven't realized.)

    i'm going to try the bell update b/c i am having other issues as well;
when i am in an app and hit the bb key the open applications menu appears instead of the real menu...very frustrating!!! any suggestions regardless are more than welcome

    bell update here i come!!

Holding the shift key and scrolling works for me on my 9100. Seems odd to me that there are more than a few operating differences between the 9100 and the 9105 that are cropping up - seemingly to be all in favour of the 9100. Perhaps this might be a way of telling phone manufacturers they shouldn't put "dumbphone" keypads on smartphones!

I played a bit with my 9100 3G and this works to delete from all of the messages in mail, tex, bbm etc. (highlight a message - hold down Right Shift Key and Scrowl up or down with the Trackpad) hit menu and select delet messages
You should hear beeping during the 'holding' action if working correctly.
    Good luck.
