I just bought my BB pearl with the orange battery like 2-3 days ago and the battery life was very good.
On the first charge i let it charge for like 12 hours maybe a little more/less, but now i would like to know how long should i charge the battery and if it's better to charge it off or doesn't matter if it's on.

It will charge faster if off, but there is no hazard to doing so while
it is on.

As to how long, charge it until it is done. Once the charging is
complete there is a chip that will protect it from overcharging.
I leave mine on the charger all night, every night.

One more point. Li-Ion batteries do not do well if they are
constantly deep discharged. It is better to charge it (top off)
any time you have the chance. While in my office or at home
it sits in a charging pod when not in use. In the car it's
connected to a car charger.

One more question, if i decided to charge it while off should the blinking led become green or something? right now is yellowish and at the end it of the blink turns green.

The light will indeed turn green when it is done.

actually it kept blinking yellowish and at the end of the blink it will turn green, so i turned on the phone because it was connected for a couple hours and it says a 100% charged at options>status so i guess it is fully charged :-)
