I have been a BB user for years now, and never quite figured this one out. I am using a 8130 at the moment, but the question is: Sometimes while at the homescreen, the ABC function appears on the upper top right as if I'm writing. How do I get that to go away--it blocks my battery info. Sometimes it is there, and sometimes it isn't. I'm sure this is basic, but It gets annoying.

i just open up my contacts then close it and it goes away. Another thing is if you keep it on multitap it does that abc icon thing. I noticed now if i keep it on suretype the abc icon never pops up now
Do you use the GMAIL app? I notice that when I use that and the password entry defaults to multitap it defaults to the ABC in the upper corner. I usually just go into my BB messenger and it goes away! I know what you mean about annoying!
