Is there any way to make the phone auto return to the home screen when the phone is closed? Sometimes it's a pain when I open the phone and it remembers where I was.

actually there is not.... but see it from the positive side... you are typing an email and need to close because of some reason... when you open back instead of having to move again to the same spot you are there...same with browsing etc.... its also nice to have that..so you just get used to closing before flipping in time and it wont be a hassle anymore and more like a good thing .
