I have downloaded The New York Times and ABC News applications. When I try to use the applications an error message occurs saying 'Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.' But if I go to my browser I can connect to the internet perfectly. Any suggestions?

I would try deleting them and reinstalling them, they are not really apps, just shortcuts.
