Value of Latest Version of OS for 8220
In reply to Question 5:
Some have found battery-charge conservation improvement by switching to various versions of the OS for the 8220 (not necessarily by installing a more recent version; some have done better by going to an earlier version)and some have found the opposite. I have had two 8220s with the original and then the last version of the OS offered through T-Mobile and a third with the latest version available anywhere. I haven't seen any difference. If you browse through posts concerning the 8220, battery drain and the various OSs, you will see which versions helped which people. It seems random to me, however.
Personally, though, I cannot recommend the phone (I wouldn't have had three if it weren't for warranty replacements/reimbursements) because while in principle its design is very nice and versatile, its hardware is unreliable, with battery-drain and Bluetooth problems seemingly much more prevalent than should be the case. If the phone were reliable, I wouldn't have had three, I would have had one.
