    Okay so I updated my Verizon 8130 pearl with the new alltel os. 81 all went well. i deleted the vendor file and the devices rebooted. no i have my email inbox, but no browser or email setting. which with verizon you have to log in the BIS site via the blackberry browser. no way of sending the service books either. any help.

    Make sure your radio is turned on and data service is on give it a few minutes and is should register with the service, If not call C.S. they can resend your service books.

    it's been registered since 4:36pm est it's now 5:34pm I can get messages and such. just no settings or browser.

    Options ---> Advanced Options ---> Host Routing Table

    Menu then Register Now

    You will be all set.

    What do you mean it won't let you? Is there an error message? Is the website not available?

    it pops up a box that says it can not access from a html browser, please log in on your phone. Which i can't cause those email settings(BIS SITE) are gone....

    That site works comes up for me and I have a friend who have a VZW BB and he has no issues.

    Are you using IE 7?

    I just checked the Verizon site: This is what I found.

    All you will need to create a BlackBerry Web Client account for your Verizon Wireless BlackBerry device:
    In your desktop browser, type the address for the BlackBerry Web Client: BlackBerry Internet Service
    Click Create a New Account. The Account Set Up page appears.
    Type in your PIN and MEID (To find your PIN and MEID, on the handheld Home screen, click the Options icon). Click Status
    Click Submit. The Legal Terms and Conditions page appears.
    If you accept the Terms and Conditions, click I Agree. The Account Set Up page appears.
    In the following fields, type the account information:
    User ID: Type the login name for your account. Your login name forms the first part of your default handheld email address.
    Friendly Name: Type a name that you want to appear in the From field of messages that you send. If you do not type a name, your email address appears in the From field.
    Password: Type a password for your account. Passwords should contain between 4 and 16 characters. Passwords are case-sensitive and cannot contain accented characters.
    Re-enter Password: Retype your password.
    Select a secret question. If you forget your password, you are prompted with this question.
    In the Secret Answer field, type the answer to your secret question.
    Click Submit. The Account Set-up Complete screen appears.
    Click Done. The Email Accounts screen appears.
    Select one of the following options:
    To add other email accounts, click Email Accounts.
    If you do not want to add other email accounts, click Enter Now.

    BlackBerry Web Client Requirements:
    The following components are required to log in to your Internet-based BlackBerry Web Client account:

    Internet-enabled PC
    Internet Explorer 5.01, 5.5, 6.0 (or higher patches) or Netscape Communicator 4.08, 4.58 (or higher patches) with JavaScript enabled.
    Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP or Macintosh OS 9.0/10.0/10.1/10.2.

    I did have this setup with my old 8830WE but should allow me to register a new pin. Here is what I get.

    Very interesting.

    If you switch BB within Verizon, you would have to call Verizon and have them to switch over you BIS account as well. They don't do that automatically when you switch device. I am very interested in why you can't access this site on your computer.

    On Verizon when you switch to a new phone it will switch the BIS to your new phone sometimes it gets hung up. Just call C.S. and they will resend your service books for you.

    Okay hung up with them.. Yeah it was hung up from my old BB.

    Removed the email address ad re added it. sent service book still nothing registered on the device yet.....

    Maybe it takes a bit.....

    Yeah maybe 20-30 mins.

    But I thought it had to do with your old PIN number, did they update your PIN for the BIS?

    It should work instantly. Try closing your browser and going back in.

    yeah they updated my new PIN on there end....

    I can log in and send service books but nothing updated as of yet. Will reboot and let ya know in a little while... Like you said it may take time.
