Hello!! I just got my pearl about a week ago and I LOVE it... only problem I am having is when I insert the media card an hourglass comes on and does not go away... I pull the battery and it comes right back to the hourglass. and I can not make calls or do anything while the hourglass is displayed.

I called Cingular and tech had me delete everything from the phone which didn't help so they had me to go a store to exchange it.

The phone works fine when the media card is not inserted.

Now with the new phone it works for a short bit and then I go to play a song which plays the first minute or so of the song and then goes to hourglass.. now the phone comes back on after about two minutes but same thing happens when I try to play music.

UPDATE: I think I got it figured out (maybe??) I reformated my memory card and then re-added the stuff back on and that seemed to have helped... so I guess the problem wasn't with the phone? Wish the guys at Cingular could have told me that!!
