Does anyone know the differences between the two Pearls? My 8100 died and ATT is replacing it with the 8110.

The 8110 has GPS along with the 4.3 OS and a 2mp camera as opposed to the 8100's 1.3mp camera.

Umm can't the 8100 also change the track ball color with a program beings it has the multi colored led? And I think that's the only BB that could ever do that? I could be wrong....

Ok. Got the new pearl and got all my old data transferred to new one but how do I set up my email. Its asking me to set up new email accounts and create a new BB email. Can I keep my old one and if so. How go I do it? Thanks

yes just log into your BIS account and click on change device..all your email accounts will carry over to your new device.I would also click re-send service books as well..

Yes, thank you,,,alll is well. One thing I have noticed about the 8110 is that the file total on this one is 58195968 bytes and on the old 8100 it is 64356352bytes. Is this normal? Everything I see on the 8110 says that it should have 64.

Wow, that is a ton of free space on both models. With that amount of free space don't worry. It's because the 8110 uses a newer OS therfore takes up more memory.

You will love the 8110. I have had both and there are major improvments between two. The 8110 has gps, video recorder, 2mp camera and a better operating system. you will also still be able to change the color of the crackball just like the 8100. Hope I helped you some.

Are you sure about that? I believe that only the 8100 can do it. It's the only model with the required colored LED's behind the trackball.

Yeah, I just looked at it. Colorpearl is only compatible with the 8100.

You don't - not with software anyway. You'd have to remove the trackball, apply colored tape or use a dry erase marker to color the LED's.

The 8100 is the only Blackberry that can change the color of the trackball with an application.

The memory leak is annoying though. On my 8110 I am currently only able to get the memory up to 8mb. Last week it was holding around 10. The 8100 keeps at 12 or 13. I have more apps installed on the 8100 and it gets really annoying to go through all the memory cleaning processes especially so often.

I've already exchanged my 8110 once. Any other suggestions?

Go ahead and waste your money. Everyone has told you time and time again that it won't work.

Excuse me but I think if you would read the post correctly you would see that I based that statement on incorrect information from another post. If you would have read my next post you would have se en that I found out for myself that it would not work with the 8110,,,not because everyone was telling me so. And FYI,,,colorpearl is FREE.
