I have created a more basic today theme - I added only calendar detail to the home screen of a basic "precision" theme and used the "BOLDish" wallpaper. I can upload screenshots and the cod file if anyone is interested.

Here it is! The first three icons on the home screen come from the device application order. The fourth, the media player, is fixed. Four calendar items are shown.

I was thinking of taking the fourth icon from the app order and increasing the number of calendar items.

    Pic is from Plazmic.

Here's the files. This theme is just for the Flip, but I suppose I could be talked into creating it for other models as well.

After using it for a day I didn't like it so much... so I modified it. This theme now has six calendar items and five user-customizable icons. Navigation has been altered somewhat and works better for me. I'll post the new one when I'm done tweaking.

Bonus! here's not just one but TWO Today variants. The first one is a modified version of what I posted last time. It now has five customizable icons on the bottom dock and navigation has been improved, at least for me This theme uses the BOLDish wallpaper found here on Crackberry.com. The calendar in the Today area has six items.

Here's #2. This one also has five user-customizable icons on the bottom, but the today area will show six items from the icon you have highlighted on the bottom, if appropriate. For example, if you have your calendar icon highlighted on the bottom dock the next six items in your calendar are shown. If you move the highlight to your messages icon you will see up to six unread items from your messages folder instead. This theme uses the BOLDish wallpaper found here on Crackberry.com.

I love the theme, but I just had a quick question. I noticed that when I get a text message, it shows two indicators saying that I have a new text message. Is this a bug or any way to only show one indicator?

Have you set your SMS and Email inboxes to Combined, Separate, or Theme Controlled?

I'm using the Hidden Today (I called it Basic Today earlier) and I only get one notice when a SMS message arrives. I am set to Separate email and SMS inboxes.

I was using the regular today with calendar theme. I tried switching it to separate, combined, and theme controlled and they all showed two message indicators. I'll try the calendar with the larger font when I get home and see if I get the same problem.

I haven't been able to duplicate your issue. I switched to the Calendar version and I get only one notification icon. Maybe I'm misunderstanding... are you getting two different icons or the same icon twice?

I installed the large font calendar last night and everything is working great. I'm not getting the two new message indicators at all. I'm not sure if it's coincidental but I also downgraded from the .200 firmware. Anyways, thanks again for the themes, I love it!

I'm thinking (hoping) it was the .200 firmware. The only diff between the LF Calendar and the normal one is the size of the font. At any rate, I'm glad it's working right now.

I tried these out - quite useful!

The only problem is on my screen the dates overlap the message sometimes and there is no space between the date/time and message.

    So instead of
    05.00am Your event
    03/07 Your event

    I just get
    05:00Your event
    03/07Your event

I tried changing font & size but it doesn't seem to help.

Actually I use 24 hour time format, I wonder if that is the problem?

This is the today them that I want.
I've installed it, with a problem:
the events in the next days are dispayed gg/03, with gg instead the date day number in the month.
I've an 8220 with Italian firmware, this is the problem?
I'm Italian, sorry for the bad English.

Thank you very much for this theme.

    Hi Paolo,

I think you may be right. I built the theme on an English system. I will see if there is something I can do to get it to work in Italian.
