I get little to no reception within my work building. When I am away from work my battery lasts a few days. However, at work, my battery rarely makes it through one 8 hour day.

I know that the lack of reception is the underlying problem. Is there a way around this? Is there something I can easily turn off or disable while I am at work that will help with the battery life? Thank you.

The lack of network IS the main reason as you pointed out yourself. One alternative for you would've been wifi but the 8130 doesnt have that.

The best option for you is to disable every other connection like gps and bluetooth. Also, set you screen backlight to 30% or so...that'll save you some.
