Recently when I started making phone calls a new icon appears on my screen. It appears on the screen once you hit the send button. It appears in the top right corner. There is the icon, then next to it is the speaker (blue Icon) then the vertical elongated volume icon (yellow).

The icon I'm talking about is horizontally rectangular. It has 5 stars (white) that are diagonal from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. It divides the rectangle into a lower left blue section and a upper right black section.

This thing is driving me crazy. I haven't recently changed any setting and it seems to have come from nowhere. Anyone know what this is or means?

its the equalizer. If you press down on the pearl while a phone call is in progress, you can click enhance audio and choose to boost bass or treble. I think if you set it to normal, it will disappear. Weird, I have to change that setting everytime I make a call, I wish that setting would stay on by default for me but it doesn't, I always have to change it to increase treble.

To make it your default setting:
From home screen hit green phone(SEND)>BB(Menu)>Options>General Options>Enhance Call Audio

To answer your question about the Icon on the upper right corner, it is the Enhance Audio feature for phone calls. I too was surprised that this little ***** appeared on my screen but when I hit the menu key, there will be an option to change your Audio (Normal, Bass Boost, Treble Boost). Pretty sick *** phone for BB enthusiasts huh!

it means it will use whatever settings you used for your previous call, on your next call...

does anyone know what this setting should be used for or under what conditions a bass/treble setting would be useful?
