It depends on your OS version. Here's a reference chart:

4GB is not the biggest size currently available... I have a SanDisk 8GB in my Pearl!

i didnt think they made them that big just yet

thats as much memory as my computer. and its only about 4 or 5 years old.

They are not available in that size yet. The table lists what is supported by the OS, regardless of availability.

Shame there is no way to allocate part of the SD card for Blackberry Device memory. That would make sense.
