Hey all, I just bought the Pearl 8130 yesterday (still waiting on Telus to fix their issues to get it activated *sigh*) but I was just getting to know it's features.

Anyway, my question is.. what is the video compatibility on it? I tried uploading an .avi and it wouldn't play. I do have a memory card, so the size of the video really isn't the issue I don't think. What is the format of the videos on the 8130, and does Roxio convert the average video formats we have such as the avi's and mpegs?

The video format is .3gp, which appears to be a somewhat common mobile phone format (it plays on my son's Venus, for example). You can get Mobiola Video Studio Pro for $19.99 which lets you drag and drop other formats, and also does DVD and Youtube conversions. I bought it last night and I've converted a bunch of stuff using the "Blackberry Generic" presets and it plays great.

I'm using XviD MP4 files to play on my BB. As long as it has proper res and a fileize not too big that it crashes...

It will play either mp4 or 3gp. Yes, the Roxio program does do conversion from some other common formats. (The tricky thing about .avi is that it's a container really and can have various formats inside it, so not all avi files are the same.)
