I am using the vzw theme on my 8130 and I am wondering if there is a way to actually see the signal strength and the battery life on the main screen. It does not currently show up until I go into my phone log.

I think he is looking for the % like you see when you go to status.
    ei: 80% battery -80db signal

There is a way to change the signal strength from a meter to a % bet i do not remember what it is. Some one posted it a while back. Not sure about the battery strength though!

To see your signal strength as a number (as in the status screen) versus the "bars". From the home screen, hold down ALT and type NMLL (Press N twice as if you were in multi-tap mode). This will change the bars to a number read out.

Trying to figure out the equivalent tip to convert the battery meter... hmmmmm

all i really want is the bars for both the battery and the signal strength. currently, they do not show up on the main screen and i have no idea why.

i do NOT need a number. Bars would be fine for me.

Hamill try what GG said. I tried and it made my signal strength go away and come back. Maybe because of my theme(today) it won't show the numbers.

well, perhaps i just figured this out. I had a picture on my main screen and even though it did not take up the entire screen when I removed that picture, the bars for both the battery and signal strength returned.

Sorry hamill, from your posts I wasn't sure exactly what info you were seeking. Glad you got to the bottom of your issue.

Interesting Member, seems its theme-dependant... works on BB Dimension L, haven't tried the others.
