Has anyone downloaded the 4.5 OS on their verizon 8130 berry? Upsides? Downsides? Link?

The only 4.5 in the wild is gsm. Cdma 4.5 won't be popping it's head up for a few months after the gsm is released.

This is crap. Verizon always screws us with new updates. So there is no way we could use the gsm version right? But how is that true? I had a US cellular OS on my Verizon pearl before vzw released 97. Why won't 4.5 work?

Even after the 4.5 OS comes out, I'd probably wait a bit before downloading it myself and see how well it works for others. I'm sure there will be tons of posts on this thread from others.

I'm a little worried about the lack of memory on Pearls to run the 4.5 OS and I really don't feel like freeing up memory again...

That firmware was released for an 8130 device, hence the reason it will work on your 8130. The beta 4.5 has been released for the 8100.
