I am new to BlackBerry. I have a 8130 Pearl from Sprint. My unread messages icon for some reason stays at 2 even though I have cleared all messages from all folders and marked all prior messages read in my e-mail folders. I can clear this icon by removing the battery, but to me, I should not have to do that every day. Also, The missed calls icon is stuck on 2 missed calls. I have deleted all of my missed calls, and the icn sitll shows 2.
By the way, it is only a coincedence that both the missed calls and unread messages are both '2'. I have cleared the unread messages numerous times by removing the battery. For a while I had 1 next to the missed call icon and just recently that has turned to 2. The has never reset with the battery removed.
Any ideas?

Thanks...tried all of that except for new OS. Icons still show missed calls and unread messages.
How is OS re-installed, and do I really want to do that?
