i dont use my blackberry pearl 8110 as a smartphone, i got it before you ahd to sing up for the data package. i like it because its small and light.

occasionally, when rattling around in my pocket, my phone will go to my text inbox, and begin to highlight messages. this isnt a big deal, but i dont know how to make it stop highlighting. i cant select just one message because it is in highlight mode, which is really frustrating.

ive tried smacking every button, holding every button, holding alt, holding alt +clicking trackball, holding alt and scrolling down to one message, and it continues to highlight. even turning the phone on and off using the red button wont get rid of this freaking highlighting.

eventually i end up taking the battery out, waiting a few seconds, putting it back in, then waiting the 5 minuts for the phone to boot up.

there is a better solution. does anyone know it?
