I don't have my pearl anymore so I don't remember exactly how to do it, but there is a way to change the Suretype to multitap. It may have been in the language settings? Sorry that's not very helpful, lol. I say give the suretype a few days though, I loved it. I have a full keyboard now, and sometimes I really miss my pearl keyboard because I could type insanely fast without looking on it.
Trust me I thought that it would take days to get use to my 8130 but its the best phone yet I have had.......I personally would give it a few days cause texting in ABC mode is a pain in the *** LOL
As your into the typing of the text/email hit the bb menu button (left side of trackball) scroll down where you see "enable multitap" and then you go.......now it will show ABC in top right hand corner!
