Trouble with Software Downloads
- I have downloaded two programs to my 8130 BBSmart E-mail Viewer & Google Maps. After downloading the software (which I did over my carriers network, not through the internet), when I try to use use Google Maps a message comes up that says " Application Terminated: Google Maps has been denied the "Interprocess Communication Permission"". The same thing happens with the e-mail viewer.
I spent an hour on the phone with Sprint, I got frustrated and hung up, I am wondering (praying) someone here might provide some insight.
Thanks,

- The GPRS APN does not concern CDMA devices (like the 8130). You might need to edit the permissions in the Advanced Options. Open up Options, go to Advanced Options, Applications, find the application you are having issues with, hit the menu key, click on permissions. Scroll to the Interactions item, click the menu button and choose Expand. Then find the Interprocess Communic... item and change it to Allow. See if that does it. (Or if others know of an easier way, then chime in, and it might be wise to backup, etc. I don't think this will do anything bad, but I'm kind of new to the BlackBerry world.)01-06-08 03:03 PMLike 0
- I now have gotten the Google Maps application to work through the advanced options function on the phone, but still no luck on the HTML E-mail viewer.
I bought: BBSmart Email Viewer version 2.3. am I correct to think the download should be found under applications which is under Advanced options?
I have a data plan and Internet any ideas on what to try next.
Thanks for you help!01-06-08 04:32 PMLike 0 - I have demo'd that product, and it was somewhere in the list. It might have been under a slightly different name, though. If you've haven't installed many apps, it should be relatively easy through the process of elimination to determine which it is. Maybe someone who has that app can let us know what the exact name is in that list. (You might also try uninstalling from the desktop manager, and then re-installing however you did it before.)01-06-08 07:23 PMLike 0
- eZainnyDeveloper - BBSmartHi cam2win,
BBSmart Email Viewer shows up under Options - Advanced Options - Applications with the name "SmartView".
To get the app. working, try enabling all application permissions. To change these, go to Options - Advanced Options - Applications and scroll down and highlight "SmartView". Select "Edit Permissions" from the menu and for all 3 permissions (Connections, Interactions, User Data) set the permission to "Allow".
This is the first time we've come across anyone having to do this, but it is worth a shot! Let me know how it goes.
Cheers,
