My current Pearl 8130 has a trackball problem and my carrier is getting me a new one.
My question is regarding restoring the device. I use internet email redirect, and I see on the carriers website where I can switch devices. I have made a back up file from my old Pearl. Should I first restore the new device with the back up file, then switch devices on the carriers website for the email? Does it matter which one I do first?

There's a specific setting within the Desktop Manager that allows you to switch devices. 'Switch Device Wizard"
I'm not sure if your email will be changed or not.

Yes I see that, but the problem is I won't have both the old and new device. I have to give up the old in order to get the new one.
