i notice that the least amount of time i can keep messages on my phone before they are erased is 15 days. is there another setting i am missing where they will delete themselves quicker, like one or two days so i don't have tons of messages cluttering up my phone. it's a pain to go back and delete them all if i don't do it right away.

I think you are looking for a way to delete them quicker than 15 days correct?
If so then no, that is the least amount you can set the save function for.
The easiest solution to deleting them is select a date, then delete prior.

the option to control it is in your messages -> options -> general, then "keep messages:".
