I have had my pearl for a few months now and I love it except for the fact that I will (every once in a while) stop receiving texts and my call history will erase itself. I've been told by Verizon that it's a glitch with BlackBerries and the only way around it (permanently) is to upload some sort of update, which will basically render my phone new--meaning I lose all my contacts, my personalizations, my ringtones...everything.

Does anyone know of a way around this? I try to keep my internet browser history cleared, as well as my texts and facebook updates...but it still happens. I have about 30 ringtones/alerts that I'd rather not lose/transfer to a MicroSD!

    Please help!

You might have just ran out of memory. Do the messages erase itself as well?

Welcome to CB. The problem is you are low on memory if you dont have a memory card get one and transfer all media to it. Usually if you go below 10000bytes it will start dumping. This is a very common problem you can search the forums there will be plenty of post about it. Try this as a fix http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...-memory-34633/ or this one http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

Check your memory Free File by pressing Alt + Shift + "H"

Bro meant that you need to have a minimum of 10 000 000 bytes.

    Follow his advise!

delete the sample video and a lot of other irrelevant media clips your phone came with, it'll free up a lot more bytes.
