I was wondering if someone can help me with the issue I am having. I am trying to upload applications to my blackberry using the blackberry desktop manger. I click on applocation loader and then when i search for the program i want to add (the .alx program) and click on open i get an error that says no additional applications designed for your device were found. I know the program works bc i was able to instal it if i download the file from my browser on my blackberry

I have a Verizon version and the phone is great, but i can only load application over the air (OTA). A couple of programs have also failed to load properly and/or lost some functionality. I contacted some of the programmers and they have stated they are working on upgrading their products to deal with this new OS (4.2 I think). I'm waiting patiently...

Yes....from all of the posts I have read the new OS 4.3 has quite a few glitches that need to be smoothed out. I have gotten that very same error message and have followed detailed instructions to remove the 4.3 OS by uninstalling it and downloading a different version. I tried both 4.2 SP1 & SP2 (I believe those are the correct names) and tried uploading those same applications onto my phone and it still showed that error message.

I am not quite sure when these problems will be addressed or fixed but I hope it's soon!!!

Is there a way to put the .xl files on your sd card and install it that way?

You really need to follow and read the info at the link that John provided.

Until Verizon releases the 4.3 handheld software that we can install on our desktops, you will continue to have the issues with the Desktop Manager and installing apps.

I am having this same issue - and I just went to download 4.3 (it's on the BBerry website) - except it is the same Desktop Manager that came on the CD with the 8130. Am I ever going to be able to download stuff from my desktop?

If you bought your 8130 from Verizon, you already have the most recent desktop manager... FYI came in the box..

As noted above, you also need the 8130 OS on your desktop. Verizon released it a few days ago.

Run the installer and you should be good to go.

It won't work because it asks for a phone number - i tried it and it said it didn't recognize the number (obviously because I'm with Telus) so now I still don't know what to do does anyone have any ideas?

I have 4.3 on both my laptop and my 8130 on Sprint, and I still have the app-loading problems. Maybe one out of 6-7 apps loaded using the DM. So I have to use OTA for most of them (if it's available)...

If you download the latest device software (now available) for your BB from Telus and install on your PC you should be up and running. I did this and now all is working.

I am also having the same problem and I going to try to load the handheld software on my computer and see if that fixes the problem.

I followed the advise on this forum thread and installed the OS on my desktop. Now the app loader works like a champ and the Desktop manager even detected, downloaded, and installed updates to all of my pre-installed phone apps. Excellnt source of info here!

I have the Sprint 8130 with the new 4.3 OS Desktop Manager on my computer, and I am experiencing the same problem everyone else is having. I can download from the OTA method but not from the DeskTop Manager. Does Sprint have a later update to this problem?

I had the same problems and spent 15 minutes on the phone with a Verizon rep who, although very friendly, had no idea what the issue was and referred me to RIM.

Downloaded the link and it now works perfectly. Thanks!!
