I plugged my phone into my laptop to put some stuff on it with the desktop manager. Now their is a window up that says "searching for available device software", It has a progress bar that has been full for about 15-20 mins. I hit the cancel button and it still does nothing. On the device itself it shows a white screen with a little phone connected to a computer. I'm wondering if it would be safe to just unplug the device from the computer. It appears like the desktop program frooze or something but I don't wanna ruin the phone by unplugging it either.

yeah I would unplug it. It will be fine. If it does it again, you will need to uninstall DTM and reinstall it without the phone plugged in.

I have noticed atypical behaviour with DTM v4.6.

When you see that status message, it means DTM is searching for an installed device OS. If you have not installed it, it should return in seconds.

Download and install your device OS from BlackBerry. That should correct the unusual behaviour.
