so i just switched my theme over to the dimsion zen theme for the verizon pearl the other day, and since then a little icon that looks like a casette tape has been popping up on my homescreen. it doesnt appear to pop up with any rhyme or reason.... what the heck is this little guy????

Cassette tape is usually voicemail. Check your voicemail, listen to or delete any there and it should go away.

it's like an actual icon right? like the ones you have for your phonebook, internet etc, its just grayed out instead of color correct? I have seen it plenty of times, since i work for vzw lol

nope... its not a menu icon.. its an icon like would appear on your homescreen for a new text or voicemail... only its neither. i dont know what the heck it is!!!

Have you gone to messages and then menu > view folder, looked in each folder? Do you have any message or email icons hidden?

sunkast - yes i know how to operate all my message folders and everything - this is for sure NOT a message icon. sigh... i dont know what it is!

I've been googling for quite a while now, I got nothin'. Not that I doubt you, but did you do the call your own number, leave a message, then check voicemail and delete, press * to end call? Sorry, but I'm still thinking voicemail.

yup... went through and got rid of all my voicemails, even my saved ones, checked all my message folders thoroughly.... nada. oh well. i guess maybe itll just have to be decoration for my homescreen...

The Treo (since it had so many other problems) had a way to clear the voicemail icon - seriously. Since this sounds like or seems like this is what this might be it is unfortunate that the Treo had this "feature" and the berry does not.....

ive heard that about the treo. however, like ive been saying this cant be a voicemail icon because i already have an icon that pops up when i have a voicemail; and i have no new messages! i cant understand what it would be, but it is definitely not a voicemail.

Hey yeah Jenay i have the same problem... I deleted all my messages and everything and it wont go away. Its reall random and i dont like it lolol Someone helppp us pleasee

okay so its definitely the voice mail messages. But after deleting all saved messages and clearing everything out its still there. doesnt go away. Pretty weird

Try leaving yourself a voice mail. It sounds weird but it has known to work.

mattie... ok so im not the crazy one!! yeah my icon wont go away either, and i have cleared and checked all of my messages. that is not what it is!!

and yes gadget, i did try the battery pull. still nada. eegads!!!!
