you need to update your OS to 4.5

Just plug your pearl into the usb cable and run the update process from Desktop Manager

I don't know anything about Alltel, I'm sorry. I know that on Sprint, none of the BBs prior to the 8330m (Re-released Curve) would handle imbedded MMS. I get a link in a text message that I have to follow to Sprints MMS Site
