How bad is it for the battery is I don't let the phone die COMPLETELY (as in shut off, not just the radio) ? Since the radio dies at 0%, it's really annoying attempting to run the battery completely out. I've been told that it makes the battery last longer, is it a significant difference?

Modern cell phones use lithium ion batteries that do not need to be run down before recharging. There is no memory effect like in the older nickel cadmium batteries.

I've heard the newer batteries are not harmed if you leave device on the charger - even if its not completely "dead"
