I went to download AT&T's new update for my pearl and according to blackberry's website, the download was no longer available, any idea's why?

Are you sure you went to the right page? It looks like it is still up here (use Internet Explorer. It will not work in Firefox):

Yup, twice even, was in the regular IE explorer on my Wifes computer

Try this link out. I do not think it is the official for AT&T but if you follow the directions and delete the vendor file you should be fine.
