Hey all, my blackberry is giving the red light of doom. I went on blackberry.com to update my 8110 to 4.5 and now it is trashed. My warranty phone is on order, but i have trying anything to cure it on my own. I have tried to reinstall my driver software and everything I could find online, my phone will look like Frankenstein at this rate tying to fix it. What is the root cause of this update crashing older versions of the Pearl? Is there a end all be all fix? Thanks

Unclear as to what stage it broke, to differentiate let's talk Desktop Manager, and Blackberry OS, so what have you installed and what happened? have you tried a clean wipe using Jl_Cmder? what OS you running on your PC, xp or?

I bought my first blackberry just yesterday. I need to have Chinese input support on my blackberry 8110. Will 8110EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel174_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.124 _CSL.exe give this feature on my blackberry.

I upgrade two devices from 4.3 to 4.5.

One worked without a hitch and has continued to be fine.

The second seemed to work (the upgrade completed) but no apps would launch.

Had to re-install the upgrade before it would work correctly.

I updated my 8110 with 8110EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel174_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.124 _CSL.exe
And I got the chinese input also. Thanks for the tips.

still having problems upgrading.

upgraded, got the red light then went back to 4.3 I've never had any problems upgrading my 8130 just this 8110
