So I'm guessing since about a week after the 4.5 update, my mute key doesn't work. If I put my phone into my holster, it will work. I know that the phone recognizes the key because when the backlight is off and the phone is inactive, when I press the standby button it relights the backlight but shows nothing about standby or mute.
Please help! I've googled and searched these forums to no avail.

So it only works if the phone is locked correct? I would first try and do a battery pull reset. Then reinstall the update doing a battery pull following the update.
