So what is the SD memory capability of the 8130 pearl?...I'm pretty sure ive been reading 8gb, but I just read in another thread, from a sprint link, it stated only 4gb!!???.....and another person saying his will only read 4gb until the OS is updated??

can someone conclusively clear this up??

No, no one can fully clear it up for you, the reason being is that it depends on the cards, some are recognized and some are not

And RIM has yet to put together a list of "compatible" cards, i've heard tons of crazy theorys on it, like "you have to format it this way" and "you need a seperate program to format it" but that, from what I have learned is all BS as well.

I thought RIM or Sprint only allowed 4gb on the 8130. Check out the fourth bullet point

Yea, when I saw that in another thread, thats when I started wondering, but this whole time, Ive been under the impression it can read 8gb, even reps at the verizon store think that cuz they were gonna sell me one for my BB.

Research In Motion BlackBerry Pearl 8130 Specs & Features (Phone Scoop)

down towards the bottom they state that its an 8gb expandable, and those guys are the phone guroos.

    This will clear it up:

    BlackBerry Search Results

I'll paraphrase what the RIM KB says:

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8GB

Since the 8130 has OS 4.3.0 it supports the 8GB cards.

I have a friend/customer who purchases accessories from my store and he got an 8GB microSD card for his 8130. So yes, it does work.

Where are you guys finding 8GB microSD cards? Online somewhere i don't know about?

Also, is microSDHC the right thing? Supposedly that means microSDHighCapacity... just want to make sure for when i get a SD card for my Pearl.

I've seen them at Best Buy. Don't look in the camera dept. I've only seen them in the cell phone dept.
